Selecting a cake, cupcakes or desserts for either your wedding, bridal shower, bachelor or bachelorette party should be a memorable, enjoyable experience, not a daunting task. One way to ensure this is to allow yourself enough time with your baker to make the necessary arrangements. It usually takes at least an hour to browse through photos, taste various cake flavors, fillings and frostings and decide on the perfect compliment to your wedding. Although it is possible to make all the arrangements via the telephone, it is much more fun when the bride and her fiance meet with the baker in a relaxed atmosphere while enjoying delicious samples! |

It is important to provide the baker with as much information as possible concerning your wedding. Plan to take along pictures of the bride and bridesmaid dresses. Fabric samples are a must if color matching is desired. This is especially important if your custom designed cake will be based on the style of the wedding gown. The names and phone numbers of your florist and reception hall manager are needed as well. A picture or list of the wedding flowers will also help your baker in recommending decorations for your individual design. When choosing a cake baker or decorator, ask for testimonials or thank you cards from previous customers. |
